Leadership Council Bluffs Class The Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce is currently recruiting Class XXI for Leadership Council Bluffs. Over the years, more than 300 participants have graduated from our program, and we are proud to say that many are serving on boards, commissions, and in local and state government. Not only are they trustees of their community, but, through honing their leadership skills, they have made valuable contributions to their companies as well. Many have been selected to further participate in Leadership Iowa, allowing them to network with leaders across the state and gain even more knowledge and experiences.  We are proud of what Leadership Council Bluffs has to offer its participants. Excitement is building, as we roll out our 2008-2009 program year! Through a partnership forged with the Chamber and the Leadership Council Bluffs Alumni Association, we are taking Leadership Council Bluffs to the next level! Class members will refine skills and realize potential, review Council Bluffs' history and become involved in its future. They will examine connections between various community systems, gain direct experience in new areas, and establish valuable relationships, both personally and professionally, which endure long after graduation. All completed applications must be returned to the Chamber office by June 16, 2008.This will ensure adequate time for the Selection Committee to review each application, with the names being kept confidential. Final candidates will participate in an interview. All applicants will be notified of their acceptance status. Full-day class sessions will begin September, 2008, and then the 3rd Wednesday of each month (except Nov) thereafter, graduating in May, 2009. Topics to be covered include: Opening Retreat; Heritage/Quality of Life; Economic Development; Biotechnology/Health Care; Justice and Media; Education; Diversity/Non-Profit; Government-City, County, State; Wrap-Up/CB Vision.
